Just a quick note to say that another of my digital paintings has won an award: "Recycled Jeans" won Outstanding Digital in the April 2025 Boldbrush Painting competition.

Boldbrush is an on-line competition that I try to put a few paintings into  every month, along with about 10,000 other paintings from artists worldwide. Boldbrush  separates the awards into abstract or not abstract (easier than wrapping words around the degrees of realism) then divide by media, giving out about 30 awards each month.  My award has ad credits attatched to it, no cash.  But I am in it for the publicity anyhow: it drives art-loving traffic to my website.

If any of you are artists, one entry/month is free.  If you have a FASO website, you can earn more free entries.

Who is Dora, you ask, and why does she get kudos? Dora is a poet (search  Adelphina poetry) and an emerging digital artist, one of my private students.  She is illustrating her own poetry book and gave me the idea to make a sort of digital collage using bits of photos of blue jeans.  She even provided the blue jeans! So, love and kudos to Dora for lighting the fire that became this award winning painting!
