Every spring, I wait with bated breath for the appearance of the Pink Lacy Cactus Flowers. I find them on rocky outcroppings in the pasture and also among the big rocks when I drive the renowned Willow City Loop, north of Fredericksburg TX. Their pinks can be nearly florescent and their interior shadows cause great color variety. Painting them requires patience, a good eye and color blending skills.
