Dried yellow China berries cling to the tree by their reddish stems all winter... This year they were attacked by a series of 5 Arctic Blasts in 10 days. Coated with layers of ice, the berries pulled down on their fragile twigs. When the sun shone, the icicles picked up bits of color from their surroundings. For me, this picture ties to my new memories of being like our pioneer ancestors with no water or electricity for days on end.
