I am getting ready to start painting a commissioned 40x60 Bluebonnet landscape acrylic painting, so this was a test run on making a fairly large bluebonnet in acrylics. The flowers in the landscape's background will be just a blue blur, but as they move toward the viewer, they will need to get much larger and more detailed.
I like the rough edges on this one. It makes me think that this flower has been through some stuff and survived. Remind you of anyone?
