News from my Studio and from nearby Kerrville
Dear VIP art lovers,
Here is the latest in my art journey:
1-Advance information just for my VIP website followers: there will be a price increase on all of my art 9/1/25. It is a bigger jump than in previous years due to supplies and demand both going up. If you already own some if my art: congratulations, it just became more valuable!
2- In other news, I have been invited to be the featured artist at the Lee Bunch Studio Gallery in Del Rio Texas for the month of September. In case you can drop by, you should know that there is an opening reception 7-9 pm on Friday September 5. My show is titled "Treasures of the Texas Hill Country" and there is a strong emphasis on (surprise!) wildflowers. This western themed gallery is at 100 W Greenwood St. and open M-F 11-6:30 (Saturdays by appointment: 830-719-2732) for the remainder of the month.
3- I have tried several times, unsuccessfully, to write about the July 4 Kerrville flood. Though our address is Fredericksburg TX, half of our family ranch is in Kerr County and our house is only about 8 miles from the terrible flooding on the Guadalupe river (but much higher.). I was not even in Texas on the night of the flood, but returned shortly afterward to see and feel the devastating effects.
Like everyone else, I wanted to do something to help, but the amazing and wonderful in-rush of first responders from across the US and Mexico along with experts in various aspects of search and rescue, mud/debris/log/brush removal limited the locals to bringing food, water and donations.
Things are starting to slow down now, but the work is far from done. It will take years to re-build the homes, businesses and natural areas and, of course, it will take much longer for hearts to heal. One thing I was able to do with a friend is host some rock painting events where we invited friends and strangers to paint rocks with messages to the people of Kerrville. This one of mine (pictured) attracted a lot of heartfelt attention. The rocks are going to a memorial garden that is being built in Kerrville by the local Wildbirds Unlimited store.

As always, thank you for going on this art journey with me.
Remember, I am interested in seeing your art too!
Nan
P.S. If you are interested in donating toward Kerrville's continued recovery, I recommend the locally controlled charity: Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country (info at CommunityFoundation.net or RebuildKerr.org or a facebook page titled The Community Foundation)
I also like giving to CERFplus.org a national organization that is focused on aiding artists who have lost their tools, materials, studio space and/or inventory in a disaster. Thank you!
